That’s a great question that I’m not exactly sure how to answer, but here’s what I know. In 1999 CSF was contacted by an attorney for Mildred Overton, of Washington, IN. Mildred specified in her will that CSF should receive 5% of her estate, which was valued at $1.3 million. CSF was able to pay off the mortgage to 707 and 713 east 8th street, put $8,000 into savings, and add a 3rd campus minister. This gift brought me to Bloomington.

One donation produced ministry opportunities that I have had the pleasure to take part in for 23 years. The Great Commission has been lived out on campus for 55 years, and I have been blessed to be a part of what God is doing. CSF has played a role in so many college student’s lives where discipleship, baptisms, and teaching has been a part of their college experience. Not only have the CSF students received a college education, but they also participated in opportunities to hear about God and grow in their faith.

Campus ministry continues to be vital for those who are looking to pursue their faith in college. This ministry has been blessed by the generosity of many over the years, which has allowed CSF to be unique in having a physical presence on campus. Offering housing and staff to be a presence for students is a game changer for the college experience. I look forward to seeing what the next 20 years will bring, and how this ministry will grow. As I pass the torch to the new lead minister, I would love for CSF, like in 1999, to receive legacy gifts. Mildred Overton felt strongly about the ministry CSF was doing on campus, and donated over $65,000. Will you consider a special gift between now and December 31, 2023 to help CSF be in a strong financial position for the next 25 years? I would love to raise $250,000 for the purpose of paying off the mortgage and help with house projects needing to be done, which will allow our ministry staff to focus on student ministry. Will you prayerfully consider giving a legacy gift this year?

Currently $17,325 has been given or committed to this legacy ask. If you would like to give, contact me at bill@csfindiana.org or our new Lead Campus Minister at ben@csfindiana.org
